So just got a call from the host of radio station in Canada.

She said, "I'd want to record you right now for an interview we'll run later today."
I said, "Can we do it tonight when I'm at home on my land line?"
She said, "Nope. It's either now, or never."

So we did a 4 minute segment. And holy crap!! You ain't kidding when you say, "when they want you, they want you NOW."

Great tips and very true. How do you get that "call" to be on TV? I had been conducting small business workshops for some time. Had a lead, called it, the event organizer said "what is the title of your book?" I did not have one at that time and she said, "sorry we only book authors." Once I published my book, the doors opened. Write a book and then go for it.

Hi Steve - good points you make, particularly about the differences between stage and the camera. Making presentations is a very different beast, rather like the difference between riding a bike and riding a horse!

That's one of the reasons I get so frustrated when I see courses advertising 'presentation and media training' - If I could train people to do both in one day I'd be a loooooot richer than I am right now! :)
