Motivational Speakers Needed

Posted by: | Comments (35)

If you’ve ever considered becoming a motivational speaker or at least adding a motivational component to your topic, NOW is the time! For two years the recession has been sucking the life out of people, and they’re ready to look forward to the future again. While the motivational market is a little rough right now, this is the time for new speakers to emerge and stake their claim. A lot of speakers have given up and gone back to their old jobs. If you’re trying to break into the business, this could be the best chance you’ll ever have. Watch this short post I filmed yesterday outside London, England, where I’m speaking at the Bill Gove Speech Workshop and doing radio/TV interviews. This economic downturn could be the best thing that ever happened to your career.  I’ll look forward to your comments.   Steve Siebold  ( 2:53 )

Speaker’s Television Strategy

Posted by: | Comments (6)

One of the most effective marketing tools public speakers use to build their brand and take their message to the masses is doing television interviews. Entire speaking empires have been built through the medium of television. Speaker’s like Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others have become famous from being on TV. As some of you know I’m in the middle of a 50-city TV interview tour for my new book, How Rich People Think, which kicked off in Orlando, Florida in July and ends in Sydney, Australia in early December. I’ve appeared on 22 TV talk shows since mid-July, and one of the most important aspects of doing this many shows is to have a strategy, especially around your central theme. In other words, you want to select your central theme in each interview that you want the audience to focus on. The same is true when you’re doing print interviews, radio, or any other form of media. The Washington Post called me yesterday for a comment on one of their leading stories, and again, my goal was to drive one central theme. They quoted me in today’s paper, included only 3 sentences from a 20-minute interview, but it was exactly what I wanted them to focus on. I did another interview with Forbes Magazine earlier this week with the same result. This strategy will help you maximize your publicity efforts. Watch this short video for more insight on this important issue for public speakers at every level.   Steve Siebold  ( 2:13 )

My SHOCKING Interview on FOX-TV New York

Posted by: | Comments (31)

There’s no place in the world like New York City to deliver a speech or be interviewed on television. New Yorkers are outspoken, direct, and fearless in asking questions that make most people blush. I’ve given speeches and interviews in NYC for years, but I have to admit that my interview today on FOX New York shocked me. I guess the lesson for all of us as speakers is to be prepared for anything, especially in the BIG APPLE! Check it out and see what you think.   Steve Siebold

Why Do You Speak?

Posted by: | Comments (21)

Why do you do what you do as a speaker? There are certainly easier ways to make money. I don’t know a single successful speaker who does what they do for the money. Knowing why you’re in this business may be the one thing that keeps you going during tough times. Watch this short video and see if you can answer this critical question for yourself.   Steve Siebold

This is the marketing system I used to build a seven-figure speaking business during the 9/11 attacks. Imagine generating over 300 leads for speeches, training, coaching and consulting dates after delivering one 10-minute speech to a group of referral agents. On October 15-17, 2010 we’re going to host the last meeting of the year of the Siebold Success Network. The deadline to speak at this event is this Sunday, August 15 at midnight. When Public Speakers Should Write a Book

Posted by: | Comments (11)

Most speakers I know write their books too early, long before they’ve honed their message and established their uniqueness. That’s why the average speaker sells less than 250 copies of their book, and rarely write more than one. Most speakers books are Think and Grow Rich regurgitated. Invest the time in creating your unique point of view and put it in your book. Take a stand and write in strong, direct language. Writing about positive thinking is great, but it’s been done over and over for the last 100 years. What the market needs is new ideas, especially in a climate of fear and scarcity. People are looking for new strategies to thrive and survive in the new world we are now living in. Once you’ve written a book with a strong platform you can promote it on TV, radio, the Internet and all forms of print media. If the premise of your book is strong and somewhat controversial, it will be newsworthy and the media will want to interview you. My new book, How Rich People Think, is getting some attention in the press for this reason. Some in the media are offended by what I’ve written about the rich and how they think differently than the rest of us, but they still want to interview me! Interesting, huh? You can do the same thing. Here’s a short interview that aired around the country today on Daytime NBC.

I just spent 2-days with 20 of the wealthiest professional speakers in the world. The meeting was held at the National Speakers Association Convention in Orlando. NSA has created a new, invitation-only group called the Million-Dollar Round Table. Each applicant had to submit financial statements to prove they had billed over a million dollars in speaking revenue in 2009. Only 21 speakers qualified, and I was honored to be one of them. All of us spoke during the 2-days, and it was amazing to hear the ideas from all of these brilliant speakers. The entire meeting I kept thinking to myself that I’d never be sitting here without the knowledge I acquired from interviewing wealthy people for the last 26-years. They taught me how to think like a millionaire, and it changed my business and my life. I had to leave the meeting early to begin the media tour for my new book, How Rich People Think. Yesterday I was interviewed on FOX and NBC. Today I’m on CBS in Chicago. This tour will continue through December and go from here to Europe and Australia. The ONLY way I could have done this is from what I learned from the wealthy. Most professional public speakers DON’T THINK like MILLIONAIRES, and that’s why so few of them are wealthy. If you’re goal is to become a million-dollar speaker, please read How Rich People Think. This book may shock you a little, but I promise you it will make you think about money in a whole different way than any book you’ve ever read on the subject. Check it out at http://www.howrichpeoplethinkbook.com You can even download 5 Chapters for FREE as a test-drive. Watch this short video post for a few major tips from the book.

How Strong is Your Value Proposition?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

It’s a tough time for most professional speakers. The recession has wiped out speakers with a weak value proposition. The same thing happened after 9/11. The most telling sign is the National Speakers Association convention, which is being held in Orlando next week.  Just over 1,000 speakers are registered. When I joined in 1997, it was almost double that number. NSA is holding a special one-day session for all speakers earning at least a million dollars a year, and out the 1,000 speakers registered, only 24 of us have qualified. Some of the biggest names in the business didn’t make the cut. 9/11 and this recession has created a correction in the speaker’s market that was long overdue. The speaker’s who are still in business simply have the strongest value proposition, which includes platform skills, business acumen, and ability to deliver bottom-line results to their customers. This group and the new speaker’s who do the same will dominate the industry until the market is flush again, at which time the weak proposition speakers will work until the market corrects again. Watch this short video clip about the organization with the greatest value proposition in the history of business…and then follow their lead!    Steve Siebold

Speaking in Stadiums

Posted by: | Comments (1)

One of the greatest thrills you can have as a professional speaker is addressing a sold-out stadium packed with 10,000 people. In 40-minutes you can reach more people with your message than most speakers reach in years. I’ve been lucky enough to give lots of stadium speeches, and I’ve learned some important lessons along the way. Speaking in a stadium is different than speaking to 100, 500, or even 1,0oo people. There are many more variables to consider and far more things that can go wrong. In this short video, I’ll give you three of the most important differences you want to be prepared for.
