The Real Secret of Public Speaking that John Edwards and Mitt Romney both missed

By

Like a lot of people, I used to think powerful public speaking was about dazzling the audience with my verbal skill. The standing ovation was always the goal. Then I attended the Bill Gove Speech Workshop and learned the real secret. Americans are getting a large dose of this concept in the 2008 political season. Some candidates get it, but most of them don’t and are suffering the consequences. Mitt Romney and John Edwards are the latest casualties. Both are strong public speakers, yet neither seem to understand what makes it work. For Mr. Romney, this is a $40 million dollar lesson. So whats’ the secret? Listen to this post and see if you agree. I also want to welcome the new members of www.publicspeakingshowcase.com  This is a FREE resource for public speakers to showcase their talents to the world. ( 5:39 )

Steve, I’ve learnt the Bill Gove speaking method from you and Dawn and haven’t look back since. Many thanks.

  2. Steve your message “what’s holding you back?’really resonated with me. I think I initially held back with the excuse: Don’t start promoting yourself as a public speaker until you get great on the platform. My thought was; when do i know i’m great??
Since attending your workshop in Orlando in 2008, I’ve delivered many speeches – mostly at Toastmasters, but i’ve also delivered speeches to groups. One paying gig. The others freebies.
I’ve written a book; On Advertising That Works! And I’ve received some great feedback on it. It’s time to take things to the next level.
Now is the time to see if I really am great on the platform. Suggestions?
